MANAGEMENT TEAM

Anne-Marie Arts

Managing Director
Anne-Marie was a founding director of the business in 2000 and her professional interests revolve around post-harvest management systems and quality management of fresh food, particularly fresh produce. Anne-Marie is the New Zealand representative on the Food Safety Committee of the International Federation for Produce Standards. She is also a member of the International Society for Horticultural Science. Anne-Marie is also in charge of marketing and overarching client communications

Dr Hans Maurer
DBA, Dip. Bus (Marketing), B. Hort., MRSNZ, CMInstD
Director, Strategy & Research
Hans was a founding director of the business in 2000. His focus is business leadership and providing strategic advice to key clients. Hans’ professional interests revolve around all strategic value chain aspects of international agribusiness, particularly in the marketing challenges related to fruits and vegetables. Hans is an Executive Committee member of United Fresh Incorporated, a trustee of the 5+ A Day Charitable Trust and the New Zealand director on the Board of the International Federation for Produce Standards. Hans is also a member of the Royal Society of New Zealand, the Institute of Directors and the International Management Centres Association.

Melanie Trotman
M.Sc. (Anatomy & Structural Biology)
Operations Manager
Melanie manages the overall operations of the Industry Services part of the business. This includes the IVA & Survey activities, food safety related industry sampling, and mystery shopping projects that The AgriChain Centre undertakes for commercial and regulatory clients. She also oversees the adherence to our Quality Management Systems, and ensures that we meet all accreditation requirements, as well as Health and Safety compliance.

Senior Project Officer
Jacob manages some mid-size client projects and works on large projects in a project support and implementation role, providing research & technical support for our United Fresh work, and our Samoan Cocoa Project, among other projects.

Tiago Inacio

Project Officer
As our Project Officer, Tiago’s role involves supporting our client projects with technical assistance, research and assisting in project delivery. Tiago is also part of the development and delivery of our Crop Scouting service.

Aneetta Baby

Services Supervisor
Aneetta oversees and coordinates the IVA and Survey team’s day to day operations to meet client requirements. Aneetta’s role involves the assessment and monitoring of fresh fruits and vegetables at client premises for import and export markets. She is also involved in sampling and mystery shopping projects that the organisation undertakes for commercial and regulatory clients.

Anthony Lim

Fresh Produce Inspector
Anthony’s role involves the assessment and monitoring of fresh fruits and vegetables at client premises for import and export markets.

Hinano Tuitea
Services Administrator
As our Services Administrator, Hinano provides support to the administration needs of the Industry Services Team. She is also involved in the assessment & monitoring of fresh fruits and vegetables at client premises for import, Export Verification & Certification, and food safely related industry sampling.

Melissa Zainey
B.Sc. (Biology & Chemistry)
Assistant Technical Manager
Melissa is based in Christchurch and worked as an industrial Health & Safety Trainer focusing on hazardous substances for 2 years prior to joining The AgriChain Centre. Melissa is the initial contact for all our South Island clients.  She works as part of both our Biosecurity and Survey Teams and calls on the resources of the entire company to meet the needs of our South Island clientele.

Massimo (Max) Ciccioni
M.Hort.Sc.
Technical Advisor
Massimo is the Technical Advisor for the IVA & Survey part of the business. This involves providing advice in regards to Quality Assessments, Endpoint Inspections, Phytosanitary Certificate Verifications and Audits.

SUPPORT TEAM

Andrea Young
Office Administrator
Andrea is responsible for our general office administration. Andrea also works as part of the Biosecurity Services Team to manage Biosecurity sales and assist with Transitional Facility requirements in relation to Biosecurity obligations.  In addition, Andrea handles our Payroll to ensure that we all get paid!  You may well get a call from Andrea too if invoices are not paid on time as she chases accounts receivable or equally she may be the person on the end of the phone when you make a training booking.
