United Fresh is the New Zealand pan industry body for the produce industry. Its vision is to create a sustainable fresh fruit and vegetable industry for New Zealand by connecting the fresh fruit and vegetable value chain. United Fresh will achieve this by providing value adding services to the industry and by representation the industry on any issues that matters to the produce value chain as a whole.

United Fresh has nearly 30 years’ experience supporting and promoting the fresh produce industry, working with the entire value chain, from seed producer and grower to consumer, and providing leadership on pan‑produce issues.

Dr Hans Maurer is a member of the United Fresh Executive Committee, acts as the Committee’s Knowledge Officer and is Chair of the United Fresh Technical Advisory Group.

The International Federation for Produce Standards (IFPS) was incorporated in 2006 and is made up of National Produce Associations from around the world.

IFPS is a global partnership between fruit and vegetable associations that aims to increase the efficiency of the fresh produce supply chain through the development, implementation and management of coordinated international standards.

  • Dr Hans Maurer is the New Zealand representative on the IFPS Information Management & Standardisation Committee.
  • Anne-Marie Arts is the New Zealand representative on the IFPS Food Safety Committee.
  • Jacob Lawes is the New Zealand representative on the Sustainability Commiteee.

The Centre aims to provide an internationally credible science base as support to decision-making in public health and the food industry, with their focus being on improving hazard detection methods in the food production chain and reducing the risk of food-borne illness to consumers.

Anne-Marie Arts is a member of the NZFSSRC Industry Advisory Group.

The seventh edition of the “Consumed” magazine released by the NZFSSRC, features an interview with Anne-Marie Arts , Managing Director of The AgriChain Centre, where she talks about her work and the importance of food safety.
